Between mountain air & alpacas: a special experience in Sölden
Alpaca hike for everyone
Sometimes it’s the quietest moments that stay with us the longest. An alpaca hike in Sölden combines gentle encounters with animals and the impressive natural scenery of the Ötztal valley, creating an experience that both slows you down and inspires you. Between crisp mountain air, scenic trails, and fluffy companions, it quickly becomes clear how refreshing mindful experiences can be.
Why an alpaca hike in Sölden is so special
Alpacas have an excellent sense of their environment and a particular charm. They are amusing and kind-hearted at the same time. They react immediately to stress and hectic situations with their body tension and manage to get rid of them just as quickly, thanks to their calm and relaxed manner. If you want to learn more about these animals and experience them first-hand, we offer weekly alpaca walks at the 5-star hotel Das Central in Sölden. On a guided tour of Caroline Santer’s Brandlehof farm, you will learn about alpaca breeding and keeping.

What makes alpacas so special
The alpacas from Brandlehof in Sölden impress with their calm and unhurried nature. These gentle animals often set their own pace, and when a lush meadow appears along the way, they are happy to pause for a break.
Alpacas are very sensitive to their surroundings and tend to trust people who approach them with calmness and patience. After just a short time, their relaxed nature becomes noticeable, and this sense of serenity begins to transfer, making the hike feel almost meditative.
